Again, Cody tested for another belt this past Saturday. He's now received his 5th belt (Green). He has 6 more before he receives his 1st Black belt. Actually 9, because the last three, (Blue, Red, and Black) they have to test twice for. Don't ask me why! I guess they just want them to know the moves really well. I'm really proud of him. He's come a long way, and has learned a lot, especially from the Leadership portion. They teach them things like honesty, and belief, etc. It has helped him in school also! He still has to work on his hearing though!! (LOL)
In full gear for sparring
Receiving his belt from Mr.Lee (3rd degree black belt)
...and don't ask me why the kids put those stickers on their foreheads that come off of the new belts?! It's kind of like a tradition?!

I love karate as a sport of kids. I am going to start recommending it to parents who need an outlet for their children but not a team sport.
(What a cutie!)
Way to go, Dude!!
Well done Cody!
Please tell him that my husband Russ, who is a sensei, is very proud of his accomplishment!
I'm having a total flashback to when my kids studied Tae Kwon Do. I signed up my son and daughter, hoping my son would keep it up. After 1-1/2 lessons he was done. My daughter however continued on for several years. CONGRATS to your son! Karate really is a wonderful program for kids--helping them in many areas of their lives.
